Geriatric Psychiatry Community Services of Ottawa (GPCSO) serves people over the age of 65 living in our community with complex mental health symptoms and/or dementias with challenging behaviours.
Ask your doctor for a referral
All referrals to our program should be made by a physician. Please contact your family doctor if you think our service might be right for you. Your family doctor can complete our referral form and send it to us. How to Refer
We accept clients living in the city of Ottawa, who live in their own home, a retirement home, group home, shelter or domiciliary hostel. View our Eligibility Criteria for more information or explore the geriatric psychiatry outreach services available in long-term care homes.
Have a psychiatrist?
If you have a psychiatrist, you should continue to work with them. If your psychiatrist would like a second opinion from one of our physicians or would like to have a Case Manager work with you, please talk to your psychiatrist about making a referral to us.
Our wait list
We review and triage all new referrals, before adding them to our wait list. If you have any questions about your referral, or if your condition becomes more urgent, please call us. We are happy to discuss it with you or your doctor.
